Many teams choosing to organise their own Three Peaks Challenge find that the cost and availability of group transport is a major hurdle to their plans.

Some points to consider:

  • The challenge driving route itself is around 460 miles.
  • Add anywhere between 410 and 1075 miles to get to/from the start/finish
  • Most minibus hire companies have a daily mileage limit of around 250 miles and charge 10 to 15p for every mile in excess of this.
  • You’ll need at least 2 non-climbing drivers aged 25 or over.
  • You’ll need to allow between £200 and £400 for fuel
  • You’ll need to arrange accommodation for your drivers.
  • Mobile phone coverage is poor to non-existent in some areas on the challenge. How will you communicate with your support vehicle if you get into difficulty?

For an all-inclusive cost we can provide 9 or 17 seater minibuses to transport you and your team from a convenient pick-up point, around the challenge route and back again with minimum fuss. All our drivers know the quickest routes to get between the mountains and will provide maximum support to help you in your endeavours.

We provide:

  • Collection from Glasgow or Glasgow Airport before the event
  • Drop-offs en-route to Glasgow after the event, including railway stations and airports.
  • VHF radios to allow your team on the mountain to communicate with the support vehicle.
  • Onboard water supply to fill Camelbacks/water bottles as required.
  • For a group of up to 6 we would provide a 9 seater vehicle
  • For a group of between 7 and 12 we would provide a 17 seater vehicle.

Optional extras

  • Mountain Leaders for 1, 2 or all 3 mountains.
  • Separate baggage vehicle (for larger events)
  • Teams of up to 6 can upgrade to a 17 seat vehicle at additional cost.
