The National Three Peaks Challenge is the UK’s most popular mountain challenge. It involves climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345 metres), Scafell Pike in England (978 metres) and Snowdon in Wales (1085 metres), usually within 24 hours. Each mountain is climbed in turn, with around 460 miles of driving to complete the challenge.  As an alternative, the Challenge is also often undertaken over a period of 3 days.

We offer a variety of organised  formats, For groups of 4 or more people we offer our GoldSilver and Bronze challenges, smaller groups or individuals can take part in one of our Open Challenges on fixed dates throughout the Summer.  If the 24 hour challenge is just a little too hectic for you why not join one of our 3 Peaks in 3 Days challenges and savour the experience of climbing one mountain per day!.

Organise Your Own National Three Peaks Challenge

If you’re Organising Your Own challenge you MUST ensure that at least one of your team is capable of navigating with a map and compass in mist, rain and darkness.  Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security on this issue – some of the worst mountain weather we’ve seen was in June!  If you’re in any doubt get in touch, we can provide an experienced, Local Mountain Leader to guide your group.

The Three Peaks shouldn’t be attempted before the end of April or after mid-October as Ben Nevis is normally in full winter conditions during this period. We also advise avoiding weekends around mid- June, as the infrastructure at Glen Nevis, Wasdale Head and Pen y Pass haven’t been able to cope with sheer numbers in recent years.

We’re here to help!
