Why choose us to provide your charity event when there are lots of potential providers out there?  This is a question worth considering, so lets look at some of the issues;

There are companies out there who can organise your event cheaper than we can, so how do they do it? Primarily by stretching the boundaries of safety! We’ve seen events where the Mountain Leader (ML) to participant ratio has been over 1:20!

We have a strict maximum ratio if 1:8 with even 1:6 if weather conditions dictate. Many of our MLs are also members of local Mountain Rescue teams. We’re proud of our excellent safety record and your participants’ safety is our primary concern throughout the event.

There are some operators out there who operate old, unlicenced (and therefore uninsured) vehicles! Additionally, in September 2013 VOSA changed the rules for operators of vehicles which can carry 9 or more passengers.  Drivers are now required to undertake additional training to obtain a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) which needs to be carried at all times.  If your event drivers don’t carry their CPC your participants could find themselves stranded at the roadside so you should always check insurance and licencing.

Our vehicles are all fully insured and regularly tested by VOSA. All our drivers carry their additional licence at all times. All of our drivers are professional, full-time drivers. In addition, our vehicles are modern and comfortable, and we operate a system of constant mechanical monitoring.

Some Three Peaks websites are agencies; once you make your booking and pay a deposit they sell your booking to event organisers such as ourselves. Some of these websites won’t even have a phone number on their pages, expecting you to communicate only by email! Some of them will also have no personal experience of the Three Peaks Challenge!

We offer complete in-house organisation of your event. We control every aspect of your event and work with you from start to finish to ensure your event is of an extremely high standard. You’ll have office an mobile numbers for your event co-ordinator who will contact you regularly in the build up to your challenge, and will be in attendance on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly. Everyone you speak to will have actually completed the Three Peaks Challenge, so you can be confident they know what they’re talking about!

We honestly believe that we are the safest, most experienced operator available. That said, we constantly look for ways to improve our operations and our customers’ satisfaction.  But don’t just take our word for it! Here are a few comments from previous customers:

Jim and the Mountain and Glen team have organised three fantastic National 3 Peaks Challenges for Sense. Throughout these, the Mountain Leaders have been exceptional and ensured that everyone who took part felt supported and safe on this incredible event. Always there with words of motivation when the wind and rain were at their worst, they have enabled people to achieve one of the toughest UK walking challenges around and created many happy, proud memories – Sense Senior National Events Manager
I have been working with Mountain and Glen for 3 years on a number of challenges and I can honestly say that they are the best in the business. The standard of professionalism is second to none. From a health and safety point of view they use the best guides I have come across and the organisation of the event is flawless. Anthony Nolan Head of Events
